Flu Season Ahead

This Saturday we welcome our first cohort of children aged 2-3 for their nasal flu spray. The first of our 2022/23 campaign. If you have not managed to book your child into this clinic yet, we do have a couple of appointments still available so please contact the practice on 0121 746 5000. Future clinics will be arranged.

Over the coming days we will begin to invite our eligible adults to book in for their influenza vaccination. You will receive an SMS invite from us with a link to book in, so no need to contact the practice. Those without a mobile will be contacted separately.

Adult vaccination clinics will commence in October and at this appointment you will also be offered a Covid-19 booster vaccination.

This is an extremely busy time of year for the practice team, so please do bear with us.

Important appointment system changes from Monday 14th March 2022

From Monday 14th March our GP appointment system will be defaulting to on the day in-person face-to-face appointments.

These appointments will continue to be bookable online and via the telephone. Please attend the surgery for the appointment time that you book. Can we encourage patients where possible to use the online booking system as this free's up our reception team to handle general queries.

If you feel that your consultation can be dealt with over the telephone, please call 0121 746 5000 and our reception team will arrange a telephone appointment for you.

Important Update – Flu vaccinations 2021

We have started to receive lots of enquiries from patients as to when we will be running flu vaccination clinics, unfortunately as reported widely across the news, the delivery of our vaccinations has been delayed.....

We should be receiving our delivery mid-October, but do not yet have a set date for delivery and would therefore not want to inconvenience patients by booking clinics and having to cancel them.

As soon as our new delivery date has been confirmed we will communicate clinic dates to patients and allow bookings. Please do not worry that you will not get a vaccine, we have ordered even more vaccines than last year and will ensure that you are vaccinated.

Many thanks for your cooperation.

COVID-19 Restriction Update

Throughout the pandemic we have strived to make the surgery as safe as possible for all our patients and staff. We will continue to do so going forward.

From the 19th July nothing will change at the surgery – patients will still need to wear a mask, socially distance and use hand sanitiser in the surgery and staff will continue to wear PPE. We do understand that it can be frustrating, but we know that when people come to us they are sick and vulnerable (and some cannot receive the covid vaccinations due to medical reasons) so we feel it would be wrong to not take these small precautions that can protect people.

In terms of opening up, as many of you know, we have never been shut and in fact have consulted with much higher numbers of patients than we did pre-covid (face to face, by phone and by video), not to count a massive contribution towards vaccinating 90% of the adult population twice in the last 6 months.

The local community has come so far in trying to minimise the impact of covid and we are sure you understand that we need to keep the surgery as safe as possible for ALL patients.
