Online appointment booking

As of Monday 16th November 2020, same day telephone appointments will be available to book online. These appointment slots can be accessed via your online services account and will be released each day at 8.30am.

- All slots available to book online are telephone appointments only, patients should not attend the practice.

- You will be contacted within 2hours of your telephone appointment slot.

- On your appointment booking please provide a reason for the appointment and an up to date telephone number.

- The practice reserves the right to move your appointment to a more appropriate clinician who will best manage your presenting medical problem.

- These slots must not be used for requesting continuous sick notes or repeat prescriptions.

Our phone lines continue to be extremely busy; we hope this will go some way to reduce some of the pressure and demand patients and staff alike are experiencing. We also hope it will be easier for those who cannot access a computer, or who have other medical queries to get through to the practice.

Minor illness appointments with our Advanced Nurse Practitioner Caroline will be available to book via telephone only. Caroline is able to consult and prescribe for a wide range of minor illness ailments such as; infections (e.g. chest, urine, ear, sinus & skin), coughs & asthma, diarrhoea & vomiting, thrush/vaginal discharge, chicken pox and eczema/psoriasis etc.

Prescription ordering

Due to infection control measures throughout the on-going pandemic, we kindly request patients with online access use this route to order repeat medication instead of handing paper requests in.

We will continue to accept paper requests for those who do not have access to a computer, however these will take longer than 48hours to process due decontamination.

Hospital Blood Tests

As of Thursday 1st October 2020, patients aged 16years + are no longer able to attend any site of University Hospitals Birmingham for a blood test, this includes Solihull Hospital, Heartlands Hospital & Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Patients aged under 16years are still able to attend Heartlands hospital to access phlebotomy services.

Blood test appointments have always been and will continue to be available at the practice for our registered patients.

Drive-thru flu vaccination clinic

Following the success of last weeks drive-thru flu vaccination clinic whereby we manged to vaccinate around 800 patients, we wanted to share just some of the wonderful feedback we have had from our patients

All patients aged 65+ should by now have received a letter invitation, if you have not please contact the surgery on 0121 746 5000.

If you are under 65 and classed as 'at-risk' we will be in contact with you over the next few weeks as soon as we have your vaccines in stock.

Supplementary Privacy Notice issued in response to COVID-19

(This Privacy Notice is to run alongside our standard Practice Privacy Notice)

Due to the unprecedented challenges that the NHS and, Northbrook Group Practice face due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, there is a greater need for public bodies to require additional collection and sharing of personal data to protect against serious threats to public health.

In order to look after your healthcare needs in the most efficient way Northbrook Group Practice may therefore need to share your personal information, including medical records, with staff from other GP Practices including Practices within our Primary Care Network, as well as other health organisations (i.e. Clinical Commissioning Groups, Commissioning Support Units, Local authorities etc.) and bodies engaged in disease surveillance for the purposes of research, protecting public health, providing healthcare services to the public and monitoring and managing the Covid-19 outbreak and incidents of exposure.

The Secretary of State has served notice under Regulation 3(4) of the Health Service (Control of Patient Information) Regulations 2002 (COPI) to require organisations to process confidential patient information in the manner set out for purposes set out in Regulation 3(1) of COPI.

Supplementary Privacy Notice issued in response to COVID-19

 

The replacement Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) for Solihull will be based at Chelmsley Wood Primary Care Centre, Crabtree Drive, Chelmsley Wood B37 5BU.

The UTC will open on Monday 24 August and will operate 7 days per week, from 8.00am – 8.00pm

This is an interim location until 31 March 2021.

All patients are now required to contact NHS 111 before they attend the UTC to seek advice, and if necessary, they will offered a booked appointment. The UTC will not accept ‘walk-in’ patients. This is to ensure the centre does not become overcrowded and strict infection prevention measures can be adhered to.

Important Update

From Monday 15th June all patients attending the practice for a face-to-face appointment with a member of our team will be required to wear a face covering.
(children under 3 exempt as per Government guidelines)

Please note, we will be continuing with our triage first model for GP appointments for the foreseeable future, our GP's are seeing patients face-to-face where it is deemed absolutely clinically necessary.

Our Nursing team are continuing to offer face-to-face procedures such as; dressings, phlebotomy, ECG's, child vaccinations, hormonal injections and cervical screening.
