Advice for parents

During these difficult times it can be hard to know when to seek help.

Please if you are worried about your child do not hesitate to engage with the appropriate NHS services.

Care planning

In these unprecedented times it is important that should the time come, whereby difficult decisions need to be made, that your family and friends know what your wishes would be. It is not something any of us want to think about but we have gathered some important information for you to read if you could spare a moment.

If there is anything you wish to discuss or if you want to put something in place, please contact the practice on 0121 746 5000. Normally we would see you face-to-face to discuss this sensitive matter but for the foreseeable future we will talk you through the process over the telephone.

If you need to call on behalf of a relative we would need to see some evidence of authority from them such as a power of attorney or a written signed statement.

We sincerely wish everyone the best of health over the coming weeks.

Please stay home, protect the NHS & save lives!

Dr S Zaki and Dr R Thandi

Easter bank holiday

Due to the current on-going pandemic, we will be open as normal on Friday 10th & Monday 13th April 2020.

We will also be open for the next 3 weekends 9:00-13:00.

Whilst we are doing our very best to support the on-going efforts of the NHS, we kindly ask that you do the same please stay at home, protect the NHS and help save lives!

Published GP earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g average pay) for GP’s working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GP’s working at Northbrook Group Practice in the last financial year was £77,037 before tax and national insurance. This is for 3 full time GP’s and 5 part-time GP’s who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.

Pre-booked GP appointments

As of Tuesday 24th March (inclusive) all pre-booked DOCTORS appointments are now cancelled. This included those patients who have already been contacted and had their appointments converted to a telephone consultation.

We like everyone else are assessing the on-going situation day by day. We therefore advise, if you do require medical assistance for urgent or routine matters to call on the day that you require assistance. Your call will then be triaged by a GP and dealt with accordingly, we will be unable to specify which GP this will be.

We thank you once again for your ongoing co-operation and support, but please remember STAY AT HOME, SUPPORT THE NHS, SAVE LIVES!

Medication update – Paracetamol

We are aware that paracetamol supplies are running low due to panic buying and as such we are receiving an increased demand for items such as; paracetamol & calpol.

Please note, we are unable to prescribe these items unless it is deemed as clinically appropriate, this is regardless of whether there are shortages of over the counter supplies.

All patients that have paracetamol issued as part of their normal medical prescription will have their prescription issued as normal, when due.

We thank your for your on going co-operation.
